GSL's chatty bits

A message from Sue Ingram when she was GSL.

Content to be updated by William Ward GSL (Acting) willsward@btopenworld.com

The Brent 6th Dartford Scout group really is a true example of how a Scout group should run. We have a great team of leaders who work so hard to provide every young person who is part of our group the full and varied program of fun and adventure that the Scout movement offers.

ALL sections are running at full high speed so we have growth of young people for the many years ahead. All section leaders work closely together so we have a good continued progress throughout the group. There is a great team of adults who are from all different backgrounds who all give a different approach so that is very positive and healthy for a balanced program. We understand the new build in Cotton Lane should be finished very soon so watch this space. We will keep you all posted on the how things are going.

Badges are costing all sections a huge sum of money but we want all our young scouters to work hard to gain the badges that we can present to them.

Both Beaver colonies are stable, full and offering lots of great adventure for all the young people. Both Cub packs the same also giving a full program and then moving it to another level to keep the enthusiasm. Then we have two Scout troops that is meeting the needs of all our 10 - 14 year olds. They are a great team offering the true Scouting adventure. I am also pleased the Explorer unit in partnership with The Brent 6th is a great success giving an action packed program. If you are between 14 & 18, come and see what Inferno Explorer Scout Unit can do for you!

We have had a strange year. 2021 will hopefully return to new normal when we are all planning the Winter, Spring and Summer camps into 2022 so be prepared for even more fun.

A HUGE thank you to all parents that have taken on the increase on Subs. It really helps every section leader knowing this is one thing less for them to sort because with money being paid straight into the section accounts every month then it makes it safer all round by not having to hold cash.

Family camp info coming out after Christmas. We are returning to Marshside at Ramsgate for 2022. it will be over the late May Bank Holiday.

If as a parent you ever want to jump on board this great adventure then please let me know. We canít do it without our great team of volunteers that give all your children the best (many had their children involved but loved the adventure so when their kids grew up they stayed)

If you fancy helping out or becoming a leader then let me know. You will be welcome!
